Date night pizza at Via 313 Pizzeria ππ¨
For date night this week, the choice was easy... we were both craving pizza! So, we decided to hit up one of our favorite nearby pizza joints, Via 313 Pizzeria in Orem, UT.

Via 313 serves "Detroit Style" pizza, which is generally a rectangular pan pizza with a thick, crisp, chewy crust. The sauce is often ladled on top of the cheese rather than underneath it. This makes for quite a unique pizza experience if you haven't had it before.
We also decided to splurge and share one of the "Hub Cap" desserts. It was good but not what we were really hoping for. The dessert was just a basic brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We were expecting something a little more fancy and thought out for the price.
Keith continued working on his homelab π₯οΈ π€
Keith has been spending a significant amount of time planning out, purchasing components for, and configuring his homelab development environment. Purchasing computer and networking components has become quite a hassle due to the recent tariffs, trade wars, and other geopolitical issues. These issues, combined with the hardware resource demands from AI datacenters, have driven parts prices through the roof! πΈ
For example, the mini PC that Keith purchased on Black Friday has nearly doubled in price since then! π€― Computer components such as RAM and storage drives are becoming prohibitively expensive and hard to find. It's really been frustrating experience compared to just a year ago when computing prices were falling and there was an abundance of options available for purchase. Only time will tell whether or not the situation improves or continues to deteriorate. π€
Snowbird is finally starting to fill in! βοΈ ποΈ
We finally received a few significant snowstorms in Utah! ποΈ π The change at Snowbird from last week is dramatic, to say the least. Last weekend, a significant portion of the resort was more grass than snow. This weekend, Snowbird opened several additional major skiing areas including the Cirque Traverse and Mineral Basin! π

On Saturday, we skied with our friends Brandon, Stephanie, and Anna. Stephanie also had a friend in town from Ohio and we all met up with Dan and Syd while lining up for the tram. If was a super fun day of skiing some good snow for once! We started the day in Mineral Basin where we encountered deep, heavy, concrete-like snow. Lindsey and Stephanie's friend both ending up doing faceplants on their way down. We spent the rest of the day making our way around the various areas of the resort, giving Stephanie's friend the "grand tour" of Snowbird.

On Sunday, we headed back up to Snowbird once again to ski with Anna. Sunday was a beautiful bluebird day! Temperatures started to warm quite a bit though which resulted in very solid/rough snow conditions. Lindsey and Keith only skied until about noon while Anna skied the rest of the afternoon. We had a great time ripping groomers and Keith even got his first Cirque Traverse lap of the year! π₯³ Keith and Anna considered skiing Great Scott while they were on the Cirque. However, once they peered down into the run, Keith said it looked like "a giant set of teeth, ready to eat you up". So, they decided to opt for something a little more mellow. π€£
