Keith's 2025 Tour Divide race result 🚵 🔵
On Thursday, July 10th, 2025, Keith became an official Tour Divide "racer" finisher!!! 🎉 🚵♂️ 🔵 Keith finished with an elapsed time of 27 days, 6 hours, and 49 minutes! This journey took him across 2700 miles of remote, rough, and beautiful roads and trails along the Continental Divide from Banff, AB, in Canada to the USA/Mexico border in Antelope Wells, NM.

Keith can't believe that this incredible event is over and that he managed to stay in front of the "broom wagon". To be considered a "racer" vs a "tourer", you have to maintain an average pace greater than 95 miles per day. Keith's average pace was 99.4 miles per day, which was right on track with his 100 miles per day goal.

This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the love and support of many people around him. Keith wants to thank all of his family and friends on "Team Keith", his wife Lindsey Huster, his Mom and Dad (Steve Huster and Roberta Huster), his bike fitter (Chris Yeager at Peak State Fit), his sports doctor (Dr. Chappell at In2it Medical), his physical therapist (Cade Mortensen at American Fork Physical Therapy), the various "trail angels" that he met along the way, and everyone else that supported him (including all of the dot watchers out there 👀).
Keith also wants to thank "The Lone Wolves Wolfpack" (Steve A Buijs, John Hintzschington, and Dan Lambert) for all the great times that they had on the trail. You guys rock and made this event even more special than he could have ever imagined.

Lindsey's road trip with her mom 🛣️ 🚙
While Keith was riding his bike across the country, Lindsey's mom flew to Bozeman, MT to start a fun-filled road trip back to Utah with her daughter. Lindsey and her mom explored the Bozeman area then traveled throughout Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.

Our post-race "vacation home" in Arizona 🏠 😌
The Tour Divide route ends in Antelope Wells, NM, which is in the middle of nowhere, at the USA/Mexico border. With the drive from Antelope Wells, NM to Orem, UT being nearly 14 hours long, we decided to find a place to stay somewhere in-between for a few weeks. This would give us both the opportunity to unwind and relax before returning home and getting back to reality.

Lindsey found an amazing condo in Oro Valley, AZ. Oro Valley is located on the northwestern edge of Tucson, AZ. The beautiful condo is located within a quiet community and has everything that we need for a few relaxing weeks. The community even has an amazing pool and hot tub for us to enjoy, after work of course. 😄

The only downside to staying in this area is that it is incredibly hot outside. The first week we were here, temperatures approached 110°F (43.3°C)! 🥵 This somewhat limited outdoor activities but we were still able to find several fun things to do over the course of our stay.
Visiting Saguaro National Park 🌵 🏜️
Saguaro National Park, home to the famous Saguaro Cactus 🌵, is located in Tucson, AZ so we were both excited to have an opportunity to visit this national park. The park is split by the city into the Tucson Mountain District (west side) and the Rincon Mountain District (east side).

We started the day with a visit to the Tucson Mountain District (west side). This section of the park has an unpaved loop drive with incredible, closeup views of massive Saguaro cacti. We thoroughly enjoyed driving this loop as it made you feel like you were way out in the desert even though you were actually only a few miles from the visitors center.

We then drove across Tucson to the Rincon Mountain District (east side) of the park. This section has a paved loop drive that gives you more expansive views of the Saguaro "forest". At first, we weren't too impressed with this side of park... that was until we got further into the drive and could truly appreciate the expansive views it offered! 🤩
Driving the Mount Lemmon Scenic Byway 🛣️ 🍋
The Mount Lemmon Scenic Byway is an amazing scenic drive located just outside of Tucson, AZ. This road is also a world renowned road bike climbing bucket list destination, with an elevation gain of over 7,000 ft (2,134 meters) over 27 miles (43.5 kilometers). 🚴♂️ The route takes you from the Saguaro forests on the desert floor to the high-alpine wilderness.

We thoroughly enjoyed the amazing views as we ascended up through the canyon. The rock formations were wild and expansive views were incredible! We could see why cyclists of all disciplines enjoy riding this route.
Mount Lemmon Ski Valley 🎿 ⛷️
At the top of the drive is a small, old-school ski resort named Ski Valley. Who knew that there was a ski resort near Tucson? 🤯 This ski resort was truly a step back in time. It has no high-speed chair lifts, a single, small lodge, and it doesn't even sell season passes! We took the scenic lift ride to the top of the resort which was a short but sweet way to take in the expansive views surrounding the resort.

The town of Summerhaven 🍪 😋
Our next stop of the drive was the quaint little town of Summerhaven. This town has a few small shops and restaurants. However, its most famous attraction has to be the Cookie Cabin. We ordered a single chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of ice cream to share. The cookies are massive and so incredibly delicious!!! After sharing the cookie, we checked out a few of the town's shops then grabbed dinner at the Sawmill Run Restaurant (dessert before dinner! 😋) before starting our trip back down the mountain.

Rose Canyon Lake 🏕️ 🎣
On our way back down to Tucson, we stopped at the Rose Canyon Campground to check out Rose Canyon Lake. This is a small fishing lake located at the edge of the campground. The lake was sort of underwhelming but it was still a nice stop on our tour of Mount Lemmon.

Wrapping up the night at Windy Point Vista 🤩 🌬️
For our last stop of the drive, we headed to Windy Point Vista. This amazing overlook gives you easy access to climb around on the rock outcroppings and enjoy the amazing views of Mount Lemmon and the Tucson valley. While we were there, we saw a couple of rock climbers perched high on top of a towering rock formation! 🧗♂️
