Relaxing weeknight fun 🧩 🍨
This week was our last week in Tucson, AZ. We decided to keep it fairly relaxed as we both were getting back into our typical weekly work routines. We did manage to find time for a few fun activities though including putting together a puzzle, checking out a local homemade ice cream shop (Licks Ice Cream and Coffee), sampling some delicious Mexican food (Taco Giro), and getting in some additional rest before our long drive home.

The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures 🔍 🧑🎨
Before leaving Tucson, we decided to check out this strange museum called The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. The museum houses a huge collection of various "miniatures". These collection ranged from miniature collectibles to handmade miniature renditions of entire homes and stores.

We didn't really know what to expect when we entered the museum. We were both immediately blown away by the vast number of collections on display and the amount of detail that each artist instilled in their work. Some of these artworks could have been mistaken as the real thing, just on a much smaller scale. 🔍 If you are ever in the Tucson, AZ area, this is a definite must-see attraction.
Date night dinner at La Frida 🌮 🌯
We had been wanting to check out the La Frida Mexican restaurant before we left Tucson, AZ. So, we made it a point to have one last date night dinner there. La Frida serves traditional Mexican dishes that have been elevated both in taste and presentation. The plating was beautiful and the taste was superb. We also really liked that they brought out a sampler of their various salsas (verde, colorado, bean, and mole) prior to ordering our main dishes so that we could decide which type of meal we might want.

Wild West Show in the heart of Tucson, AZ 🤠 💰
After our delicious date night dinner, we headed to Trail Dust Town to watch the Pistoleros Wild West Show. This show was so much fun! The 30-minute show mixes comedy with heart-pounding action and stunts. So, be prepared to hold your breath and laugh at the same time.

The actors were all amazing to watch and the storyline was on point. The actors even found ways to work in specific audience members into the show's comedy routine. The special effects were also done really well. The actors all used real pistols that fired very loud blanks. There was even a massive fireball at one point! 🔥 All in all, we both thoroughly enjoyed this show.
The long drive home 🛣️ 🥧
After two and a half weeks, it was time for us to say goodbye to Tucson and head back to our home in Utah. We decided to split the trip over two days so that we didn't have to spend so many consecutive hours in the car.

The first day, we drove from Tucson, AZ to Page, AZ. Page is home to the amazing Lake Powell but unfortunately, the smoke from the fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon prevented us from spending any time outdoors. This didn't stop us from enjoying a delicious meal at the State 48 Tavern followed by a small dessert at Kelly's Sugar House.

We got up early the next morning, had a quick breakfast at the hotel, and then got on the road. We stopped for "lunch" (aka pie and ice cream) at the famous Thunderbird Restaurant in Mt. Carmel Junction, UT. The Thunderbird is famous for their homemade pies so we never pass up an opportunity to stop in. As we neared Richfield, UT, we encountered yet another large-scale wildland fire.
Eventually, we arrived at our home and we were both glad to be there. The drive was long but had many amazing sights along the way. 🤩
