Hiking the Bonneville Shoreline Trail at the "Y" mountain π₯Ύβ°οΈ
We kicked off this week with a hike along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail at the "Y" Mountain trailhead. This is a great place for a mid-week, casual hike. The trail is easy to access and offers amazing vistas of Utah Valley.

We hiked about 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) total and chatted along the way. Sometimes its nice to keep our activity at a casual pace, rather than a fitness pace. π
Awesome spring skiing at Snowbird! π β·οΈ
On Saturday, we headed up to Snowbird to see what the recent Spring snowstorm produced. Last week, significant portions of the mountain had no snow and the more difficult terrain was all closed. π That all changed this week thanks to a "miracle April snowstorm" that delivered a 25 inch (63.5 centimeter) storm total.

The day started off with free burritos, coffee, and hot chocolate for all season pass holders! We each grabbed a burrito and coffee then headed to the Snowbird Center to relax and enjoy our breakfast while the morning lift lines died down. Oh, and we also ran into our friends Kelly and Lin. We hadn't see Lin in forever!

We then met up with our friends Brandon, Anna, and Zack to enjoy the recent snow accumulation. Thanks to the recent storm, the Cirque Traverse and other expert areas were open once again! π₯³ Towards the end of the day, we briefly met up with our friends Kelly and Mike. It was great to see them both again!

After a hard day of skiing, we stopped at McAlister's Deli in Sandy, UT. This was our first time visiting this sandwich shop chain. We were both really impressed with the quality and quantity of food. We will have to keep this place in mind anytime we are in the mood for a good sandwich.
Keith's post-skiing ride up Provo Canyon π΄ββοΈ π
After we returned home from skiing, Keith decided that he still had some energy to burn off, so he went for a 47-mile (75.6 kilometer) bike ride with over 1,600 feet (488 meters) of elevation gain. π€ͺ

Due to the recent snowstorm, all of the mountain bike trails are muddy and/or closed. So, Keith stuck with the paved bike paths up to and through Provo Canyon. Upon reaching Vivian Park, he started the road climb up South Fork Road. Keith was shocked at how strong he felt during the climb! This isn't a hard road climb by any means, but Keith was able to maintain a solid, sustained effort up the 4-mile (6.4 kilometer) climb. π
Easter brunch at The Salt Republic in Salt Lake City, UT π° π₯
Every Easter Sunday, we celebrate by partaking in an elegant Easter brunch. This year, we chose The Salt Republic in Salt Lake City, UT, as the brunch venue. This restaurant is located inside the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.

The Easter brunch was everything we had hoped for. It offered an amazing selection of delicious mains and accompaniments. The buffet had a ham and prime rib carving station, a selection of iced crab and shrimp, elevated breakfast staples, and a wonderful assortment of desserts. This was the perfect way to celebrate Easter together.

Afterwards, we took a quick walk around downtown Salt Lake City. It was nice to get out, stretch our legs, and enjoy the sights of the city before making the drive back home.
