Keith's training continues 🏋️ 🚵♂️
Keith had a heavy training load this week... 😅
- On Tuesday, Keith completed a 90 minute weightlifting circuit.
- He then immediately rode on his indoor trainer for another hour at an average of 177W, roughly 15W above his targeted max sustainable wattage for the Tour Divide.
- On Thursday, Keith completed a 90 minute weightlifting circuit.
- He then immediately rode on his indoor trainer for another hour at an average of 206W, roughly 45W above his targeted max sustainable wattage for the Tour Divide.
- On Saturday, Keith completed a 56 mile (90 kilometer) outdoor ride with nearly 2,800 feet (853 meters) of elevation gain. This ride was done in frigid temps 🥶 as he climbed and descended American Fork Canyon.
- Keith also completed the short, 1 mile (1.6 kilometer) Buffalo Point Trail hike at Antelope Island State Park.
- On Sunday, Keith skied with his friends at Snowbird while Lindsey and Cara went snowshoeing at Solitude. The conditions were perfect for ripping groomer laps so he quickly racked up nearly 18,000 vertical feet (5,486 vertical meters) of descending.
- When Keith returned home, the weather was so nice that decided to go for a 30 mile (48 kilometer) outdoor "recovery ride" with roughly 660 feet (201 meters) of elevation gain. 😎

Date night at TaiChi Bubble Tea 🍜 🍣
For date night this week, we decided to check out TaiChi Bubble Tea in Provo, UT. This counter-serve restaurant chain is known for their bubble teas but also serves delicious Asian-inspired dishes such as ramen and sushi.

Keith ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and Lindsey ordered the Salmon Poke Bowl. We each also ordered a BBQ Pork Steam Bun as an appetizer. The meal was quite good but it didn't top our favorite ramen spot, Haku Ramen House in American Fork, UT.
Happy birthday, Cara! 🎂 🥳
Lindsey's cousin Cara has finally arrived in Utah!!! We are so excited to have her back, especially since she is celebrating her birthday with us!

We picked Cara up at the Salt Lake City International Airport, late Friday evening. Keith had an early morning training ride scheduled the next day so was asleep by midnight. Lindsey and Cara stayed up quite a bit later... they had lots to catch up on. 😄
Touring Antelope Island State Park 🦬 🦌
On Saturday, once Keith was done with his training ride, we packed up the car and headed to Antelope Island State Park in Syracuse, UT. We have visited this state park multiple times but this was Cara's first experience at the park.

We drove across the causeway to enter the park. We weren't able to stop at the visitor center as they are currently building a brand new one. 🚧 We made a quick stop at the first beach area to walk out to the water. The lake/mountain views were spectacular. Unfortunately, there were a lot of dead birds washed ashore due to a recent bird flu outbreak on the lake. 😞
Next, we headed to the Buffalo Point Overlook area to hike the Buffalo Point Trail. This is a short, but steep trail that takes you up to the high point on the western side of the driving loop. We enjoyed the 360° views and playing around on the rock formations at the top of the hike.

When then continued along the driving route towards the east side of the island. It didn't take long for us to see a huge herd of Bison and several Pronghorn. We saw so many animals during this trip to the island. We even saw a roughly 100 Bison herd crossing of the main road as we were heading out of the park. 🦬 This was such a cool way to end the day on the island.

Snowshoeing at Solitude 🥾 🏔️
To wrap up the weekend, Lindsey and Cara headed Solitude Mountain Resort to go snowshoeing. We have been snowshoeing at Sundance Resort a couple of times but this was both Lindsey and Cara's first time snowshoeing at Solitude.

The girls covered nearly every trail in the nordic center! They worked their way around the first loop before heading in to grab a meal and some drinks. Afterwards, they checked out another loop to complete their hike for the day. All in all, they said that the views were beautiful but the final climb was tougher than expected. That could have something to do with the elevation or possibly the drinks. 😅
