Preparing for Tour Divide training 🚵 😅

Keith has begun the process of converting his bike from a dedicated mountain bike to a long-distance bikepacking rig. The first step was to swap his wheelset back over to the faster-rolling, longer-lasting, Continental Race King tires. Next, Keith reinstalled his Profile Design Sonic Ergo clip-on aero bars so that he could have the extra hand/body positions required for comfort during long-distance rides. Once all of the parts were reinstalled, Keith took his bike for a couple of test rides through various local terrain including roads, paved pathways, gravel forest service roads, and even some light singletrack.

Lindsey's birthday surprise road trip 🎂 🎉

Lindsey's birthday was this week! 🥳 Keith surprised Lindsey with a weekend road trip to Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe, UT. Read more about this trip below.

Apple cider donut season! 🍩 😋

What's the most important part of a road trip??? The snacks of course! 🤣 As we started our journey south, we made a quick pit stop at Rowley's Red Barn in Santaquin, UT. We picked up a dozen apple cider donuts and a bag of assorted chocolate-covered nuts to ensure that we would have the energy for the two-hour drive ahead.

Red Hill Hot Springs 🔴 💧

We arrived in Monroe, UT about an hour before our check-in time at Mystic Hot Springs. So, we decided to check out the nearby Red Hill Hot Springs. These hot springs are a small roadside attraction accessible off of a short dirt road drive just outside of the town of Monroe, UT. We didn't get in these hot springs since we didn't want to have to dry off and get back into the car before heading to our check-in appointment.

Mystic Hot Springs 🔴 💧

After our quick pit stop at Red Hill Hot Springs, we made our way back into the town of Monore, UT to check in at Mystic Hot Springs. Mystic Hot Springs offers a paid hot springs experience as well as several overnight stay options including camping sites, cabins, and old converted buses!

We chose to stay in the New Moon bus. This is one of the newest buses on site and it was perfect for our overnight trip. The entire facility, and the buses especially, have a "hippy vibe" ☮️, which we enjoyed very much. Staying in the buses is not for everyone. However, if you come with an open mind and free of expectations then you may find out just how much you can enjoy this experience.

We also booked a two-hour "soaking pass" for the hot springs themselves. These hot springs are probably the most unique and Instgrammable hot springs in Utah. We were super lucky in that another group was getting out of the famous bathtubs just as we were arriving. This allowed us to have the best seats in the house for the upcoming sunset!

Steve's Steakhouse 🔴 💧

To cap off our trip, we had a delicious dinner at Steve's Steakhouse in nearby Richfield, UT. Lindsey ordered the 16oz prime rib and Keith ordered the half-rack of ribs, which we both split. This was such a great way to end such a relaxing day before heading back to our bus for the evening.
