We are back from our European vacation! 🇵🇹 🇪🇸

What an amazing adventure! We set off with the daunting goal of completing the 170+ mile (273.5+ kilometer) hike across Portugal 🇵🇹 and Spain 🇪🇸 along the Camino De Santiago, Portuguese Route in less than three weeks. We weren't sure if we could accomplish this feat but knew that it would be an incredible adventure regardless of the outcome.

Thankfully, we completed the journey within our allotted timeframe with only minor physical concerns (e.g., blisters, foot/ankle pain, etc.). We were very fortunate compared to many other "pilgrims" with bandaged knees, feet, etc. hobbling around the ending city of Santiago de Compostela. We felt especially proud of ourselves, considering that we hiked through a literal hurricane (see: Hurricane Kirk) for the better portion of the route. We had planned for some rain, but we never expected heavy rains for weeks on end!!! ☔ 🌧️

In the coming weeks, we will share a series of blog posts covering our full experience along the Camino De Santiago, Portuguese Route. Please bear with us as it will take some time to go through all of our videos, photos, and thoughts as we piece together the blog posts. For now, here is a sampling of photos from our adventure. 📸 😍

A day in Amsterdam 🇳🇱 🛥️

On our way to Portugal, we had a half-day layover in Amsterdam, so we took the opportunity to explore a part of the city. We have previously visited Amsterdam during a long layover on our Honeymoon trip to Egypt... 17 years ago! 🤯 so we were excited to return and see the city again.

On this trip, we took a train into the city, walked around through several neighborhoods, and took a boat tour along Amsterdam's famous canals! The boat tour was the highlight of our time spent in Amsterdam. It was so amazing to see the city from the water and to learn about the history of the city as we navigated its waterways.

We will share a blog post about our day in Amsterdam soon. For now, here is a sneak peek of some of the highlights from this trip.

An evening in Paris 🇫🇷 🥐

On our way back home from Portugal, we had an overnight layover in Paris, so we took the opportunity to see some of the highlights of the city. Lindsey had previously been to Paris during his study-abroad program while in college. This was Keith's first time visiting the city.

On this trip, we took a train into the city to see the Cathedral of Notre Dame. From there, we walked throughout the city, stopping to visit several other famous landmarks, such as the Louvre Museum. Our night exploring Paris ended at the world-famous Eiffel Tower! We were hoping to see it sparkle ✨, but we arrived too late in the evening. We did, however, get to watch it sparkle ✨ from the plane as we descended into Paris! 🤩

We will share a blog post about our evening in Paris soon. For now, here is a sneak peek of some of the highlights from this trip.
