Cara's Visit π§ π¬
Lindsey's cousin, Cara, was in town this past week for some sightseeing and hiking. It's always special to spend time with family, but it's extra special when you get to travel together! The plan consisted of spending a few days in Wyoming and then a couple of days at our house in Utah.

Grand Teton: Day 1 π π€©
The day after Cara arrived in Salt Lake City, the three of us headed for Grand Teton National Park. We took the scenic route, and it was absolutely amazing! We saw some of the best Fall colors, and there were several places to pull off the road and enjoy the views. This was a great indication of the trip ahead.

We headed straight to the trail as we arrived at Grand Teton National Park. We parked at the String Lake Trailhead and followed the trail to Leigh Lake. These trails follow the water's edge and offer plenty of photo opportunities. We enjoyed stretching our legs and took full advantage of the amazing scenery. We even saw a group of artists painting, paddleboarders, and canoes! It was a magical afternoon. We hiked 3.37 miles (5.42 kilometers) total, only turning back when we got hungry.

Grand Teton: Day 2 ποΈ β°οΈ
The next day we headed back into the park with a list of the most popular stops: Mormon Row, Schwabacher Landing, Snake River Overlook, Oxbow Bend, etc. It's not a real national park road trip without stopping at the iconic overlooks and getting your own pictures. All three of us agreed that Schwabacher Landing was our favorite.

In the afternoon, we took the Jenny Lake Shuttle across to hike Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. Once at Inspiration Point, we decided to hike back into Cascade Canyon for a while. We wanted to see the canyon, but we had also heard there had been a bear cub back there eating berries in the last few days. We were hoping to see the cub, but we didn't.

We knew we weren't going to make the last return boat of the day, so we'd be walking the extra 2.5 miles (4.0 kilometers) back around Jenny Lake to the visitor center. All in all, we hiked 5.77 miles (9.29 kilometers) with about 1100 feet (335 meters) of elevation gain. It was another memorable day together π«Ά

Food and Treats We Enjoyed π π
Food is always a big part of vacation, and this trip was no different. It might have been on the shorter side, but it did not lack in food! Here is a sampling of where we ate: Persephone Bakery, Picnic Cafe, Liberty Burgers, and Saffron Indian Restaurant.

Wrapping Up Cara's Trip π¨ π
We spent the last couple of days of Cara's trip at our house. We did various things from watching movies to walking by the lake, getting ice cream, driving to an overlook, and seeing paragliders! πͺ It was so nice having Cara spend time with us. We are already looking forward to her next visit! π

Fall Views at Sundance β°οΈ π
Lindsey has been wanting to ride the lift to the top of Sundance Mountain Resort to have nachos at the Bear Claw Cabin. Fall is a perfect time to do this, and she made it happen this weekend. She and Stephanie met at Sundance and were surprised by the long wait to ride the lifts to the top of the mountain.
They had some catching up to do, so even though it was over an hour wait, they filled the time. Both were quite hungry by the time the nachos arrived, so Lindsey didn't even get a picture before they dug in. Even with the crowd, they got one of the best tables on the outdoor patio overlooking Utah Valley. Another Fall activity checked off the list!
